Calcium hypochlorite tablets are a popular choice for those who want to keep their swimming pool clean and clear. With a high chlorine content, these tablets are extremely economical which reduces the need for frequent dosing. The tablets are sleeved, which means that the chlorine is released slowly and consistently, giving you up to 5 days of chlorine protection with just one tablet.

One of the key benefits of calcium hypochlorite tablets is that they are stabiliser-free. This means that they don’t contain any cyanuric acid, which can build up in the water and reduce the effectiveness of chlorine. By using stabiliser-free tablets, pool owners can ensure that their chlorine remains at the optimal level, helping to keep the water clean and clear.

Ideal free chlorine range: 1 – 3mg/l

Warning: Do not mix neat with any other type of chlorine. Always add to a clean and empty skimmer basket.

Application Instructions

1. Maintain pH level within the ideal range of 7.2 – 7.6. If not in this range, adjust.
2. As these stabiliser-free calcium hypochlorite tablets are designed to dissolve slowly, it may be necessary to shock dose the pool water prior to their use to first establish some chlorine more rapidly. Maintain free chlorine level in the range 1 – 3mg/l.
3. If your swimming pool is outdoors, test the stabiliser level and if required, apply Blue Horizons Chlorine Stabiliser to achieve a level of 40mg/l.
4. Skimmer Application: Place two Calc-Chlor Pods in a clean and empty skimmer basket per 50,000 litres (11,000 gallons) of pool water.
5. Do not remove the plastic sleeve as this helps to ensure slow, consistent chlorine release.
6. Once the Calc-Chlor Pod has dissolved, the plastic sleeve will float and can be removed and discarded. Each pod lasts up to 5 days, dependent on water flow.

Please be aware that this product is not compatible with stabilised chlorine tablets.
