EGFM Glass Filter Media - 25kg
Enviro Glass Filter Media (EGFM) is environmental glass filter media to be used instead of sand. It gives superior cleaning and allows for 50% less water lost when backwashing. In theory it wouldn't need changing as it doesn't wear down like sand although we still recommend a change every 5 years plus you use 15% less of it, the perfect media!
Quick guide: Use Grade 1 in place of the silica sand (less 15%) and Grade 3 in place of the pea gravel recommendations as per your manufacturer's guide.

How does it work?It's angular to sub-angular particle shape provides a 30% improvement in turbidity removal over silica sand. It's non-porous composition means its less likely to clump or channel than silica sand. less susceptible to bio-fouling as unlike silica sand, EGFM's particles have a smooth surface area, so bacteria can't get trapped in any cracks or flaws. This translates to less remedial action and again less chemical treatment to kill pollutants.
PLEASE NOTE: orders for multiple bags of glass media will often be delivered using a pallet service. This would mean that you would need to be sure that your delivery address has access to receive a large delivery vehicle. Also, this delivery service is a 'curb side' service, so you may need to make further arrangements to get the goods to the desired position at the delivery location.
