Swimming Pool Chlorine Tablets 20g

Swimming pool chlorine tablets are among the most popular and widely used chemicals for maintaining pool and hot tub water. These smaller 20g stabilised chlorine tablets are ideal for spas, small above-ground pools and use with chlorine feeders or floating dispensers. Pool chlorine tablets are particularly convenient and provide an easy application method as you can add them to a chemical dispenser, adjusting the rate of release with the aperture mechanism.

The chlorine tablets will slowly dissolve over 3-5 days, depending on the water flowing over them. As this is a relatively slow release of chlorine, you may need to shock your pool or hot tub before the first use to get the chlorine levels up more rapidly.

Stabilised Chlorine Tablets

This product contains trichloroisocyanuric acid, which is what kills the bacteria. The tablets also contain cyanuric acid, which is what makes them stabilised. This protects the chlorine from sunlight, ensuring the chemicals in your water remain effective throughout the day.

Ideal Chlorine Range When Using the Tablets

Keep an eye on your chemical levels to ensure you maintain the right amount of chlorine. Too little chlorine will mean your water cannot be sanitised effectively, leading to dirty, unsafe water and algae growth. Too much chlorine may damage your pool components and make it too harsh to swim in. When using spa and swimming pool chlorine tablets, you should:

maintain the following:

  • Poosl: 1 - 3mg/l (ppm)
  • Spas: 3 - 5mg/l (ppm)

Prior to using this product, adjust the pH levels to the ideal range of 7.2 – 7.6 (the tablets themselves have a pH of 2.9) to promote bather comfort, plant protection and effective chemical use.

These smaller chlorine tablets are designed for use with chlorine feeders or with floating dispensers. They will slowly erode over a period of 3 - 5 days, depending on the water flowing over them. As they release chlorine relatively slowly it may be necessary to shock dose or oxidise prior to their use to first establish some chlorine more rapidly.

Application Instructions

WARNING – DO NOT ADD DIRECTLY TO A POOL AND ALWAYS USE A CLEAN APPLICATOR AS BELOW WITH NO OTHER PRODUCTS PRESENT.

Floating Dispenser: Fill the Trichlor floating dispenser with tablets and adjust the aperture mechanism at the bottom of the dispenser to obtain the 1–3 mg/l (ppm) desired range. Alternatively keep the dispenser aperture constant and vary the tablets inside to achieve 1–3 mg/l (ppm). The dispenser should be removed from the pool while swimmers are bathing.

Chlorine Feeders: Fill the dispenser and follow feeder instruction manuals on flow regulation to maintain 1–3 mg/l (ppm) chlorine levels.

Note: It is recommended that you periodically (e.g. weekly/fortnightly) shock or oxidise your water.

Always wear PPE when using Pool Chemicals and thoroughly wash your hands afterwards.

Never mix Pool Chemicals

Store in a cool, dry place out of reach of Children & Pets and out of direct sunlight.
