Recommended HydroStar Turbine Power Based on Swimming Ability

Hydrostar in available in eight power performance options, from 160m3/h up to 1200m3/h/ 

In both single and double turbines you swim 2-3 metres from the outlet. The width of the current at a single turbine is approximately 50-75cm. The width of the current at a twin turbine is approximately 100-150cm.

Minimum pool size requirements for the HydroStar Counter Current System

The inlets have to be placed on each side of the HydroStar and the skimmers at the opposite side. 

HydroStar single turbine can be installed in a swimming pool with minimum inside dimensions 2.2m (W) x 4.5 (L)

HydroStar twin turbine can be installed in a swimming pool with minimum inside dimensions 2.2m (W) x 5.5m (L)

 

 

HydroStar Operation

HydroStar Installation

Binder designed the HydroStar in a way that enables the system to be integrated quickly and easily into new pools of all kinds. Hydrostar can be installed in pool walls made of steel, aluminium, concrete, polystyrene or plastic, as well as in swimming ponds. We use different types of installation shafts for installation. The compact shaft provides space for a single turbine and can be upgraded as a combination shaft, thereby enabling a maximum flow rate of up to 275 m3/hour. The twin turbine shaft system generates an even wider flow. Here, volume flows of up to 320, 430, and 530 m3/hour.

By contacting 1st Direct Pools, we can put you in touch with a professional who can install the HydroStar quicky and easily for you. This is possible thanks Binders unique system concept, which works without a dry room. As a result, installation requires far less effort than with standard counter-current systems. HydroStar is simply connected to the normal household power supply; a high-voltage power connection is not required. The turbine swimming system is maintenance-free and extremely compact with a maximum depth of 515 mm.

Retrofitting 

HydroStar is only designed for new pools. If you're looking to retrofit a counter-current system from Binder, we recommend purchasing the EasyStar. 

Binder have developed the modern-looking EasyStar hanging system especially for this purpose, which fits harmoniously into any environment.

EasyStar is available in grey and white and, just like the permanently integrated version, is offered in six performance levels with flow rates ranging from 160 m3 to 550 m3 per hour. What makes Binders retrofit system unique is that it offers all the benefits of a fully-fledged HydroStar system. Unlike comparable systems on the market, it does not suffer any performance loss as a retrofit system. The modern housing of the EasyStar was awarded the German Design Award.

 

HydroStar Lighting 

You can order the HydroStar with the option of Ambient strip lighting, or LED ring lighting for the turbines. Two different LEDs ensure the perfect atmosphere in the pool: a ring light for mounting on the outflow opening of the turbine and an ambient light for the installation housing.

The atmospheric LED light makes the turbine shaft glow in colour from the inside. And so intensively that, depending on the size of the pool and it's design, you could do without additional lighting, saving you on additional costs.

Key Information: 

The HydroStar turbine comes with 10m of cable - 3 x 8mm2 (15.8mm diameter), if you need to extend the existing cable Binder specify that the cable needs to be fined wire 3 x 16mm2 - around 18-20mm diameter. 

If you need to extend the cable, the existing cable has to cut between 3m and 5ms away from the turbine, then extend using 16mm2 cable back to the control panel.
