Stabilised Chlorine Granules 1kg

These Stabilised Chlorine Granules 1kg are ideal for daily dosing of your swimming pool or spa, to produce free active chlorine which kills bacteria and other potentially harmful organisms. They are rapid dissolving and have minimal impact on pH.

Application Instructions

  • 1. Maintain pH level within the ideal range of 7.2 - 7.6. If a level is not in this range, adjust accordingly.
  • 2. Maintain free chlorine residuals within the range Pools: 1-3mg/l (ppm); spas: 3 - 5mg/l (ppm). *Freshly filled new pools or spas left drained for a period of time require an initial start up dose of 20mg/l (ppm) of free chlorine circulated for a minimum of 2.5 hours.
  • 3. This product may be applied directly to pools and spas where temperatures exceed 20°C. If below this temperature or in doubt pre-dissolve this product in a clean plastic container at a maximum rate of 100g of product per 2.2 gallons (10ltrs) of water. Stir well to ensure the product is fully dissolved. Add the resulting solution to the pool or spa whilst the pump(s) are turned 'on' preferably near the water inlets to aid distribution.
  • 4. Repeat dose application if necessary to achieve levels in point 2 above.
  • 5. It is recommended that you periodically (e.g. weekly/fortnightly) shock or oxidise your water, using shock or oxidiser products, to eliminate any excess contamination.

FAQs

What Does "Stabilised" Mean in Chlorine?

"Stabilised" chlorine contains cyanuric acid, which acts as a stabiliser to prevent chlorine from degrading in sunlight. UV rays can quickly break down chlorine, reducing its ability to sanitise the water. Using stabilised chlorine granules eliminates the need to add a separate stabiliser.

Should I use Chlorine Granules or Chlorine Tablets?

The choice between chlorine granules and tablets depends on your pool's chemistry needs rather than one being more effective. If you need to raise chlorine levels quickly, granules are ideal for a fast boost. Afterwards, you can switch to chlorine tablets for steady, long-term maintenance. It's helpful to have both stabilised granules and tablets on hand. Granules provide quick adjustments when levels fluctuate due to factors like sun exposure or debris, while tablets offer a more consistent, long-term solution for keeping your pool stable.
