Without properly balanced water, your pool chemicals cannot maintain the right relationships with one another. If one area is lacking, you may find that your other chemicals do not work as they should. Improperly balanced water can also lead to staining and corrosion. You will need to regularly test your water with test strips or other methods to make sure chemical levels are where they should be.
If your pool’s pH levels are poorly balanced, other chemicals will not function at their full abilities and may cause skin irritation. The ideal pH range for your pool water is 7.2-7.6. If it dips out of this range, you can use pH plus or minus to get it back on track.
